wow its good to read your diary and get a sense of what your up to.

i loved every minute of it. every minutae of it. right on . the northern lights sounds reaaaal good.

well there is this incredible new space, called 'the space'. that artists have taken over in long island city. there is an old theatre inside, as well as about 22,000 sq. feet. of blank, abandoned space. it has been funded by some people with bucks, and is now open to the general art public, as well as school projects.

what does this mean? well, the phun phactory, the freestyle family, myself, and many others (the list is growing everyday), are joining the effort to make art there. sculptures, collaborations with kids (the most amazing painting i've seen in a while, made by 7 hi school kids), famous artists, not so famous artists, musicians, theater groups, MoMa, street decoration programs ... the works!

its really exciting. why? because it is in new york! precisely the place you would/and would not expect it to happen. things are so oppressive in the city, but in this 'Space' there is a relief from the hum drum of banging evil corporations on your head taking your money. $.

its like we are in the fantasy new york that you read about, or hear about from those that have lived here in the 70's. or 60's.

And this upcoming weekend is the soon to be infamous 'art frenzy' of long island city. there will be all kinds of craziness. turntablin', rock groups, open studios galore, art exhibit openings, kids doing gymnastics in the park. you should make it if you can, wherever you are.

also, june 8th will be the premier of my one-person show. entitled "rimbaud and flower petals". actually that probably won't be the title, but its all i've got so far. well, it should be fun any way. so your invited, of course, if you can make it out.
