saw knicks game last nite with jason pow and emily pec. that was fun and unexpected. Ive never been in Madison Square Garden nor have i ever seen a professional basketball game. They played the nuggets, won by 6 points. the crowd was definatively new york, not arriving until late, not involved in the game until the last quarter. Then everyone was yelling and screaming at every foul, missed shot, steal, and what have you. it was fun.

i've acquired a studio to work in, a work space in a building called the 'phun phactory'(tm?). its 5 floors are filled with mostly artist's studios and also one of those completely asian almost sweatshop fabric manufacturors on the first floor. maybe they'll kick them out and it can be filled with more artists. the building is across the street from PS1 (which ive put a link up to ... its showing these great de Goya prints right now, and mucho other stuff), and the exterior is a 'grafitti museum'. I talked to a guy who was working on putting up the walls the space, and he explained that he was a grafitti artist. He had asked if the super (who did most of the grafitti art) would let him have a space to do his own thing. the super, apparently, is a 'tight-ass', however; who is reluctant to give up his wall space and building reputation to just anybody. so the guy would get no wall. too bad.

in other news, my mom has had some sort of revelation. sitting in the bed with nothing to do but recover from this latest mishap. (interesting the general response that entry garnered, so im just keeping y'all up to date). and then she received a letter i sent her, and was moved enough to come and visit me. well, next week, she plans to come, anyway. which is quite a thing, because up until now she didn't want to even acknowledge where i was living or the life i was engaged in. ... So this is pretty exciting, pretty positive.

That is the power of the written word, my friends. Don't

forget it. Stay literate! I just downloaded my first Napster song, Erikah Badu's 'on and on'

(a song i've also learned already on the guitar, but well now i have it at work too!)

Pappazon recommends Erikah Badu. She is Awesome!

Short term plans involve:

Surviving the week till pay day

Maybe going to State College? Kelli and Gabriel, in that order ... (sorry gabriel, but you know i wouldn't have been so ready to come otherwise)

Preparing for Off-the-Cuff's arrival in New York City. (Fanfare, trumpet's blare!)

Tightballing my boss into giving me a raise.

Buying Gifts (uuggh, so not prepared!)
